Ciekawostki czyli F**ktFanther 1/2025

Skąd nazwa? Dlaczego Steel Panther?

We were Metal Skool and I remember we were playing Kat Von D's tattoo festival, and we were in a trailer getting ready to go on, we're talking about band names. (…) We're like, 'What should we call a band? Iron Steel...?' Because we want just wanted the cool bitchin'-sounding name. You could name your band anything but if it sounds cool, it is cool, that's how we felt about it.

Nowa nazwa miała brzmieć chwytliwie, zapadać w pamięć i kojarzyć się z czymś zajebistym, metalowym i twardym. Spomiędzy całego królestwa zwierząt padło na PANTERĘ.

We're like, 'Should we call it Iron Tiger? Panther? What's cool? Snakes, panthers... What's a heavy metal-sounding name?' We landed on Steel Panther because we just thought it was fucking bitching.

A my totalnie się z tym zgadzamy.

The band's initial name was Metal Skool, but they changed it to Steel Panther in 2000.

Rumours that the name came from the film "Rock Star," where Michael had a minor role during an audition for the band Steel Dragon, are not true. Aside from Satchel's joking statements, that they did those things and it was necessary, the reason was actually quite different. Stix revealed in an interview that the idea for the new name was invented during a festival.

They wanted a catchy name, that people would remember, something metal and badass. And they landed on the idea of Steel Panther, because it was badass? Iron Tiger, Panther, Snakes, all sound heavy metal, but what's cooler? PANTHER.

They settled on Steel Panther, because it was bitching awesome. And we totally agree - it's a killer name.
