Druga wersja
live w wykonaniu Steel Panther nazywa się „Live from Lexxi’s Mum’s Garage”. I
rzeczywiście, to koncert dla wybranej garstki fanów. Niby trochę spokojniejszy,
ale bardzo interesujący – ich największe i najbardziej wulgarne hity w wersji
akustycznej brzmią świetnie. Oczywiście, nie brakuje też zajebistej wizji
(lubię tych „starszych panów”), ale przede wszystkim ta płyta ukazuje ich
świetny warsztat jako muzyków pod tym kostiumem chłopów, którzy gadają tylko o
seksie. Warstwy lirycznej oceniać nie będę, wybaczycie mi.
Startujemy „Party like tommorow…”, potem są numery praktycznie z każdej płyty: „Fat Girl”, „Community Property” i „Death to all but metal” z „Feel the Steel”; „If you really love me” i „Weenie Ride” z „Balls out”; „Party..”, „Gloryhole”, „Bukkake Tears” i „The Burden of …” z „All You Can Eat” czy premierowe wtedy „That’s When You Came In”.
Wszystkie kawałki są w zupełnie nowej aranżacji, najbardziej lubię „Death To All but Metal” w wersji niemalże country – to kompletnie zaskakuje. Do płyty dołączony jest film, a nie można też pominąć typowego komicznego gadulstwa, tak bardzo charakterystycznego dla Steel Panther.
Generalnie,
krążek polecam dla fanów, którzy znają ich dorobek muzyczny. Stare kawałki w
nowej, lżejszej odsłonie. Warto posłuchać.
The second live
album by Steel Panther is called “Live from Lexxi's Mom’s Garage”. And indeed,
it's a concert for select groups of fans. It's a bit more subdued, but very
interesting - their biggest and most vulgar hits sound great in an acoustic
version. Of course, there's no lack of amazing visuals (I like those
“older gentlemen”) but above all, this record showcases their great
craftsmanship as musicians behind the costumes of these guys, who only talk
about sex. I won't be judging the lyrical layer, forgive me.
We kick off with “Party Like Tomorrow Is the End of the World”, then there are tracks from practically every album: 'Fat Girl”, “Community Property”, and “Death to All but Metal” from “Feel the Steel”; “If You Really Love Me” and other hits from their subsequent albums. “Weenie Ride” from Balls out”; “Party..”, “Gloryhole”, “Bukkake Tears” and “The Burden of …” from “All You Can Eat” - or the premiere of “That’s When You Came In”.
All the tracks come in completely new arrangements, and I especially love “Death to All but Metal” in a near-country version - it's totally surprising. The CD comes with a movie, and you can't miss out on the typical comedic chatter that's so characteristic of Steel Panther.
Generally, I recommend this album to fans who know their musical output. Old tracks in a new, lighter rendition. It's worth a listen.
