War & Peace to projekt
muzyczny stworzony przez Jeffa Pilsona, człowieka znanego z takich zespołów jak
Dokken i Foreigner. Zespół po rozpadzie Dokken wydał parę numerów, które
docelowo ukazały się w 1993 roku jako całość w albumie zatytułowanym „Time
Capsule”.
Na gitarze wraz z Pilsonem grali
Tommy Hendrix (gitara basowa) i Russ Parrish (gitara rytmiczna i solowa), a na
perkusji Ricky Parent. Wszyscy panowie są mocno powiązani z glam rockową sceną
lat 80’, a pan Russ Parrish właśnie na koncercie War & Peace zostanie
zauważony przez Halforda, by na chwilę pograć w jego solowym projekcie i
docelowo wylądować w Steel Panther jako Satchel.
Na krążek składa się jedenaście numerów i jest to całkiem przyjemne granie. Wita nas „Love Has No Colour” z klimatycznymi klawiszami. Jest lekko i bardzo rytmicznie. Całość jest mocno dynamiczna i zawiera wiele kolorytów muzycznych. Przyjemny wokal Pilsona i pomocne gitarzystów się uzupełniają, gitary idealnie pasują do siebie, a mamy aż dwóch gitarzystów. Jest żywiołowa perkusja, są solówki, ogólnie wszystko siedzi i jest na miejscu. Teksty mocno pozytywnie nastrajają człowieka. Wszystkie kompozycje są tworzone razem, poza powolnym „Believe In Yourself” skomponowanym w całości przez Russa Parrisha.
Ten album to taka prawdziwa kapsuła czasu. Posłuchajcie, a poczujecie się jakbyście cofnęli się przynajmniej do lat 80… to gratka dla koneserów, którzy lubią się wsłuchać w muzykę, gdyż znajdziecie tam wiele smaczków muzycznych, a długie kompozycje dla wielu mogą być męczące. Osoby doceniające dobrą i spokojną muzykę odnajdą w tym albumie dużo przyjemności.
War & Peace is a musical project created by Jeff Pilson, a man known
from bands like Dokken and Foreigner. After Dokken disbanded, the band
released a few tracks, that ultimately came together as a whole album in 1993,
titled "Time Capsule".
On the guitar alongside Pilson were Tommy Hendrix (bass guitar) and Russ
Parrish (lead, rhytm and solo guitar), and Ricky Parent on drums. All the
gentlemen are heavily connected to the glam rock scene of the 80’s, and Mr.
Russ Parrish would later be noticed by Halford at a War & Peace concert,
playing with him for a bit in his solo project, and ultimately landing in Steel
Panther as Satchel.
The album consists of eleven tracks and is quite enjoyable to listen to.
We're greeted by "Love Has No Colour" with atmospheric keyboards.
It's light and very rhythmic. The whole thing is highly dynamic and
features a wide palette of musical colors. Pilson's pleasant vocals and the
helpful guitarists complement each other, the guitars fit perfectly together,
and then we have two guitarists. There's lively drumming, solos, and
overall everything is in place. The lyrics are very uplifting. All the
compositions are created together, except for the slow "Believe In
Yourself" composed entirely by Russ Parrish.
This album is a true time capsule. Listen to it, and you'll feel like
you've gone back to at least the 80s... It’s a treat for connoisseurs, who
enjoy immersing themselves in music, as you'll find many musical nuances there;
and the long compositions might be tiring for some. People who appreciate good
and calm music will find a lot of pleasure in this album.
